A new website has made it easier to complain if you are dissatisfied with the treatment at his private practice dentist. The new website was created by Dental Association in cooperation with Danish Regions.

The website is designed to make it easier for patients to figure out what to do if you are dissatisfied with the treatment or bill from his dentist.

Since states Tandklage.dk, and on it there is easy access to the form that you need if you want to complain. You can also read about where to go if you want to complain or seek damages because of an injury. There is also information about what happens to the complaint, when the patient has received it and complain about the system structure and on appeal.

Danish Regions welcomes the challenge system for private dental practice has now become easier to understand.

    - It is important to know your rights if there are failures or accidents to the dentist, or if you do not agree with what is stated on the bill. Such remedies are quite good. But the system can be difficult to foresee. For example. it is important to observe the time-when the appeal would otherwise be rejected, whether you're right. It is now easier to complain - and easier to get an overview of what happens when one has complained, says Jens Stenbæk (V), Chairman of regions Salary and Rate Committee.

In Dental Association hopes that Tandklage.dk will increase confidence in the complaints system.

    - Of course we have asked ourselves whether it is Dental Association's task is to encourage patients to complain. Furthermore, I would say that our general advice to dissatisfied patients remains that the first thing to go into dialogue with their dentist. Many complaints due to misunderstandings, which can often be overcome through a chat with the dentist. But for dentists as for all other industries is that it means a lot for our reputation, the ability to complain about us experienced as simple and transparent, says Marianne Riis, who is chairman of the Dental Association Clinic Owner Negotiation.

Patient Insurance convicted of utterances about drug

    4th December 2009
    Filed in News

Dental Association's Patient Insurance has today been sentenced to pay CMS Dental 2.5 million. million in damages.

The judgment has fallen in a case concerning an article in Dentistry magazine from 2005. The article advised the President of the Dental Association's Patient Insurance dentists to be careful when they used 4% articaine with bedøvelser in the lower jaw.

The judgment does not clarify whether there is a greater risk of using articaine than using other anesthetic agents for anesthesia in the mandible.

Dental Association's Patient Insurance takes note of the judgment.

President of the Dental Association's Patient Insurance, Dental Jahn Legarth, said:

    - When I was invited to write article for Tandlægebladet had previously been written in the magazine on articaine. Pharmaceutical Insurance Association was informed, and thus there was also passed information to the Medicines Authority, which is responsible for drug safety. I do not know what I would have done if I had known beforehand that the article would lead to a lawsuit that has had great personal cost to me.

Dental Association President Susanne Andersen says:

    - The judgment includes some scary prospects. It will be important for us, medical associations and other health organizations. We are concerned that the High Court's judgment will be seen as a restriction of free speech in the health care debate about possible adverse effects of drugs. The judgment does not change that it is the individual dentist's duty to advise his patients as possible and report adverse reactions to the Medicines Agency.

Dental Association's Patient Insurance has not yet ruled on whether the judgment should be appealed.

Dental Association and the Dental Patient Insurance Association has no further comments to the judgment.

The dentist has cut too much into a crown

    Question:

    Hello

I've got a new crown put on a tooth which she ladle to! And as the new crown was put in and I was comfortable with was a little too big / high! she ladle it a little and it came to pass. But when I got home and looked in the mirror I could see that she has cut too much into the new penny is sanded down to something black! through the white!

(Now I understand better that she gave me the mirror so I could see it down there!)

It seemed too bad, what can I ask for?
Because I have to pay much money for it, think they talked about 7.318, -
Can I ask for. A new dental?
And it is not more fragile where she has cut too much?

Will be glad for your opinion / help

    Sincerely, John

    Answer:

    Dear John,

From your description of the process, I think you should be entitled to a new crown at the dentist's bill, or at least a discount. But it is something you should talk to your dentist about. If you can not agree on an amicable solution for both parties, you have the opportunity to complain about dental treatment. It is often a long process and you do not dentist's bill in the first place.

Read more about it to complain about a dental treatment

The crown is not necessarily more fragile, where the dentist has cut too much off. So it is perhaps more a question of how it looks. But it obviously depends on how much she has polished by which I, for good reasons can not say anything about.

Hope you can use my answer.

There is no guarantee for poor workmanship?

    Question:

    Hi all,
I have a question regarding a broken tooth because a root canal. Now I can see one of your answers that there is no guarantee of root canal treatment?
I got in March created a root canal, and it looked fine, said the dentist, but now it's broken a piece of the tooth and the treatment is shown also got broken when I can skate with the other side of the tooth. This must be bad workmanship, and must be covered by a warranty?
I look forward to hearing from you.

    Laurids

    Answer:

    Dear Laurids

First let me say that your tooth is not necessarily broken just because it has been root canal treated. There are several reasons why a tooth is root canal treated, and often there is not much left of a tooth when root canal treated. It sounds like your tooth is cracked, and it is something that can happen. When the dentist looks at the quality of a root canal, he looks at the canal filling, ie. he replaces the tooth nerve with whether it is convenient. And that is what he means by that it looks fine. The split tooth is not necessarily something bad crafts to make, but is quite a common complication that can sometimes happen.

You are not covered by any warranty to the dentist. But it is believed that one has been mistreated by a Danish dentist, you have the opportunity to complain about the treatment. You can read more about how to complain about the dentist here.

You can also apply for compensation from the Dental Association's Patient Insurance. You can read more about damages for malpractice here.
