    Question:

    Hi,

I'm considering getting my teeth bleached (Beyond tooth whitening) by a dentist.
Can it be harmful to the enamel? teeth are subsequently more
susceptible to misfarning of coffee, tea, red wine etc ...?
and is it something you would advise?

    Vh.

    Peter
    (42 years)

    Answer:

    Dear Peter,

You can easily whiten your teeth. You should know that right after a bleach, so the teeth are more susceptible to dyes in food and beverages, but only for a limited time. It is not harmful for the teeth to get them bleached a few times.

Hope you can use my answer.

Do not drink coffee for 4 days after surgery?

    Question:

Is it true that one should not drink coffee or black tea for 4 days after wisdom tooth was removed?

    ira

    Answer:

    Dear Ira,

It's not something I know about. Only two days after surgery, you should stay away from anything that is hot, be it food and drink. The heat gets namely your blood vessels to dilate, resulting in increased risk of wound starts to bleed again. Also, you must stay calm after an operation, not to start bleeding.

    Yellow teeth with age

    Question:

I am a man of 43 years and are the last few years started to have yellow teeth. I do not smoke and drink 3-4 cups of coffee a day.

My wife has advised me to purchase a Tooth whitening kits to 499 pounds. But I do not feel comfortable with the process myself.

What do you recommend I do to get whiter teeth?

    Answer:

    Dear Peter,

It is quite natural that the teeth become yellower with age. It may be partly due to coffee, but it can easily be removed by the annual teeth cleaning by a dentist or hygienist. I think it would be a good idea to have your teeth evaluated by a dentist before they are bleached. Also think that it's much better to have them bleached professionally, than you start experimenting yourself.

Hope you can use my answer.
