Damage to teeth whitening enamel and what does a tooth whitening?
5th May 2009
Filed in Treatment , Cosmetic dentistry
Question:
Is it possible to get the teeth a few shades whiter, without damaging the enamel?
And it is a treatment offered by dentists, and at what cost such a treatment?
Sincerely, Marie
Answer:
Dear Marie
One can whiten your teeth a few times without damaging the enamel. However, it is best to get your teeth bleached at a dentist for the best possible way to avoid damage by bleaching.
There are a few things one must take into account before one can give a specific price on a bleaching, and it also varies from dentist to dentist. But you must reckon with approx. 2500-3000 DKK for the bleaching. If you have old plastic fillings in front teeth, these possible. rotated within, since they are not bleached with teeth. Then the treatment is expensive.

I'm considering changing silver fillings out with plastics
5th May 2009
Filed in Cosmetic dentistry
Question:
I have some old silver fillings which I intend to migrate out of plastic fillings because I think it looks prettier.
The old fillings are not particularly visible but can be seen when I laugh and some of them are quite large.
What considerations should I make before I make the investment in a whiter smile?
Answer:
Dear Anonymous
It would be best to talk to your dentist. Then you can add a treatment plan of the fillings needed to change and what can wait. Then you can take one by one without it being too expensive. It may well turn out to be an expensive affair to change silver fillings out of plastic.
Sincerely
