Death after dental crown attached

Question:
Hello
I have put a crown on a molar, but I still can not chew with the tooth. It is now almost 1 year ago, and twice I have sanded some of the stand as she thought this might be the reason why I can not chew.
This has not helped, and now think my dentist that the nerve may be dying, and that this may cause it still hurts when I chew, and that I therefore must rodbehandles?? There are other options.
This is an insurance claim, but insurance will cover this so long after.
Sincerely, susanne
Answer:
Dear Suzanne,
10% of teeth that causes crown on "door" becomes necrotic as we call it in jargon. So it is very common. If you have pain and can not eat with the tooth, then the rodbehandles. The alternative is that it is pulled out.
If insurance cover is a little hard for me to answer, but you can find out with your dentist.
Hope you can use my answer.

Can root canals be avoided by changing lifestyle?

Question:
Hey.
Do you think the dentists never about root canals can be avoided by conversion of dietary and life habits such as smoking, lack of exercise?
I've had many root canals, the first as a teenager and since then the teeth just not been in order and are now about to fall apart into small pieces, fordii no longer enough tooth and no blood supply to the teeth.
There must and will be able to do something that is better. Who besides me interested in it.
Sincerely
Susanne
Answer:
Dear Suzanne,
No it can not if the damage is done and your nerve has been damaged. But the transformation of the diet is a good idea to avoid tooth decay.

Pay for two root canals

Question:
Hi I have 5 years ago had a root canal treated tooth. I will then have the crowned. The dentist finds out that the tooth is not "completely dead". So it must rodbehnadles again. They call for 1200 kr off to! Is it true that you can get and have to pay 2 times to get the same tooth root canal treated 2 times?? I have not paid the final bill yet.
MVH Thie
Answer:
Dear Thie,
It's hard to say exactly at. But sometimes there are more channels in a tooth, and often they are difficult to find. This is perhaps what has happened in your case. In this case it is reasonable that you pay for it because rodbehandlingen would otherwise just be the more expensive the first time.
Hope you can use my answer.

Is my root canal treated tooth?

Question:
I've lost a penny went to the dentist, who could tell me that it could not be reinserted when there was Karius in the tooth, also said that there was no messing addressed, which I think it is (it's some years ago) . Due. disease both at the dentist and me, I've now gone with the "open" rooted in just over a month when it was offered plain. eating, no I've felt any kind of discomfort / pain, my question: can this be done with an untreated root?
Sincerely
Vibeke
Answer:
Dear Vibeke
Yes it can. Nerve in a tooth can go and die without you noticing it or get toothache. So if your tooth is not already root canal treated, then you probably could not feel anything because it is dead.
Hope you can use my answer.

The dentist found a crack in the second Kindt and I have changed my silver filling from silver to plastic and it is now nearly 4 weeks ago. Practice I still feel it pulling down the jaw and neck. What is this?? Hopes for quick response

Should not I be offered a crown?
8th June 2010

Question:
Hello
I have had a molar root canal treated in Nov.2009, and this weekend, that is. on 19 February 2010 is the tooth cracked. I'll see if I can get an emergency appointment with the same dentist in the morning, having made rodbehandlingen. This is where my question: Since the plastic filling in the tooth is pretty big, should I not have been offered a crown on the tooth, because I can read that most gets registered? This allowed the tooth could have been saved, because I expect because of the now withdrawn.
Sincerely. Anne P
Answer:
Dear Anne P
It is difficult to answer specifically to your question. It is not certain that the tooth would survive longer with a crown on. It will always be assessed individually for each tooth. After a root canal dentist will usually have an observation period of rodbehandlingen approx. ½ years before the coronation of the tooth. So I estimate that your dentist has acted properly.

Should I choose root canal?
13th January 2010

Question:
I stand by, I think saying a big problem. Go out and travel a half years on January 5 and since it is Christmas OVS, I have not much time to watch an. I got in november removed a temporary filling that I had a half years. Did the temporary filling because I had a big hole where there was a piece of silver filling that had been broken. Has no symptoms experienced in the six years I had the temporary filling. When I looked in november have removed it and put plastic I begin to get symptoms. Already inside the dentist I notice as she polishes the tooth to which a small area that hurts when touched. This area has bothered me a bit ago. My dentist believes it is because the filling was too high and therefore cut the tooth 2 times. After grinding has the place in question, however, been even more sore and reacted to the cold and when I scratch with a fingernail. Especially when I'm out in the cold winter air can I get a lot of pain up through the tooth. The days where I've been very out is the extra sensitive and responsive to hot. There may also be days where I do not think the tooth is sensitive eg those days where I primarily at home. I think even in the case of the nerve is too close to filling and therefore is very delicate. My concern is that I do not know if I need root canal treatment it? The best would probably be to let time pass, but it's a little difficult because I will soon travel to Asia for six years. Can live with my pain now, but I need to know that the pain does not become worse and that there is no risk of infection. Must finally say that I am 25 years old, never been root canal treated. What should I do?
Sincerely, Laura
Answer:
Dear Laura,
You must let your dentist evaluate for yourself whether the tooth should rodbehandles or not. It's a bad sign that the tooth reacts to heat and you have pain in it. Indicating that it ends with a root canal. If your dentist has determined that it is best to wait, it's probably true in your case.
Hope you can use my answer.

Should I be on painkillers for a month?
21st October 2009
Filed in Treatment , Pain and Anesthesia
Question:
Dear dentist
I now have over a longer period struggled with tooth pain and I fear that it will know.
The summer of 2008 I switch dentists because of relocation, here will I made some holes. Immediately after I bothered by pain in the posterior upper molars on one side and then my dentist lubricates my teeth and gives me a softer toothbrush. The teeth continue to be sore - and then I thought that my problems arose in connection with the new dentist, I choose to switch.
One day I suffer from severe pain in my head one half, it comes in an "attack" by a few minutes periodically. I only do to the doctor because I think it's sinuses, then to guard the dentist that gives me some painkillers and suggests a root canal in my own dentist. I have started a root canal a day before I go away for a 5 month stay in Spain with the message that I must follow it up down there. Down down a dentist something cleansing (camphor-like) in and it can according to him, allowed to sit for the next 5 months. During this period I practically painless. July 2009 I get followed up on rodbehandlingen, it is cleaned and rinsed several times (it hurts in between each time) so she dare not close it. When the pain is reduced and then shut it, I have no problems until about August, when it starts to hurt a little once in a while - now it is gone to and I take ibuprofen f
players bid to keep it off. I was at the dentist yesterday and she took a picture and could not see anything. She removed my wisdom tooth (next to the tooth root canal treatment) and gave me a penicillin regimen that I'm at now and told to come back in a month. I think that's a long time to be on painkillers.
I would really just hear you, whether it is normal procedure, and if you see what I have written, my dentist take care of it as she should. That I have no chance even to assess.
The pain I can best describe as a kind of "terminal" as if there is excess pressure in the tooth (and the pain also in the teeth next to it, and some of them at the bottom of that page)
Thank you in advance for answers
Sincerely. Mette
Answer:
Dear Josephine,
It's a very boring situation you've ended up in. It's always hard to evaluate something when there have been several dentists involved, since we do not have a thorough knowledge of the entire course of the disease. And it's also hard for me to comment on anything so specific.
I think your current dentist is true from the problem she is facing at present. It is not uncommon that patients are told to take painkillers for a period to see if the pain decreases or disappears altogether. My recommendation is that you follow your dentist's instructions, also with regard to the painkillers. But if you think that the pain does not subside or to keep going, you should visit your dentist again.
Hope you can use my answer.

What causes swelling of the gums?

Question:
I've got a crown of -6 and several times experienced a lateral swelling of the gums and tested penecillin and several times klorheksidin pasta but it comes back, it is very sore when I press the swelling, what might that be??
Brian
Answer:
Dear Brian,
This indicates that the tooth must rodbehandles. There is probably an inflammation of the nerve of -6 or perhaps one of the neighboring teeth. The tooth must rodbehandles does not mean that you also need a new crown on it, unless it is necessary. Dentist root canal treatment through the crown.
Hope you can use my answer.

There is no guarantee for poor workmanship?
Second October 2009
Filed in Complaints
Question:
Hi all,
I have a question regarding a broken tooth because a root canal. Now I can see one of your answers that there is no guarantee of root canal treatment?
I got in March created a root canal, and it looked fine, said the dentist, but now it's broken a piece of the tooth and the treatment is shown also got broken when I can skate with the other side of the tooth. This must be bad workmanship, and must be covered by a warranty?
I look forward to hearing from you.
Laurids
Answer:
Dear Laurids
First let me say that your tooth is not necessarily broken just because it has been root canal treated. There are several reasons why a tooth is root canal treated, and often there is not much left of a tooth when root canal treated. It sounds like your tooth is cracked, and it is something that can happen. When the dentist looks at the quality of a root canal, he looks at the canal filling, ie. he replaces the tooth nerve with whether it is convenient. And that is what he means by that it looks fine. The split tooth is not necessarily something bad crafts to make, but is quite a common complication that can sometimes happen.
You are not covered by any warranty to the dentist. But it is believed that one has been mistreated by a Danish dentist, you have the opportunity to complain about the treatment. You can read more about how to complain about the dentist here.
You can also apply for compensation from the Dental Association's Patient Insurance. You can read more about damages for malpractice here.
Hope you can use my answer.

Complications after root canal treatment. Who pays?
7th September 2009

Question:
I've had a root canal in my tooth and when this began to crumble, I got a crown instead (in February 2009). Now I have got an infection in the same tooth, which has evolved into a large tooth abscess. It has been incredibly painful and been on pencilinkur and painkillers. I have today (d. 7/9-09) been to the dentist and get the knowledge that it is a tandrodsbetændelse. I have now studied the NetDoctor what caused this and it says that the reason for tandrodsbetændelse is that there are still hiding in dead tissue, and thus bacteria in root canal nooks. It will then say to the dentist in the dawn of time have not made my root canal well enough. Can it be true that I have to pay for a tandrodsbehandling, or more surgery?? That is because those who have not done their needlework good enough, due to my problem today. There must be some kind of warranty. Hope you can answer my question. Sincerely f
ra a frustrated Sisse ...
Answer:
Dear Sisse,
There is usually no guarantee of dentistry. Your dentist has probably done its job properly, but there are limits to how we can achieve with our instruments. There is one of several main channels in the roots depending on the tooth type we are talking about. And there are also these little bikanaler where we can not come up with The instrument. Sometimes it was undesirable to come infection in them. The only way you can get to them is through this little rodoperation.
Hope you can use my answer.

The dentist seems so unsympathetic towards my pain
20th August 2009
Filed in Pain and Anesthesia
Question:
I truly believe that my pain threshold is ok high - has born 3 children without anesthesia and had performed a part in the dentist the last few months even without anesthesia
But audiovisual audiovisual audiovisual I have such a toothache and has had it for almost a half weeks now Trying to tell myself that it's just nonsense and I'll pull myself together, but it makes just as bad
I got one and a half months ago drilled two deep holes out and made a pulpaoverkapning (ie, she tried to get the nerves to pull together).
In Wednesday she drilled them out completely - nerves had not retired, as hoped - but it all looked fine and so she sealed them. She could not give any guarantee that it would succeed and that it eventually could end up with a root canal - but she was VERY optimistic.
But since then I've just had an evil evil evil I was down there last Friday again and she gave me some penicillin and so she thought otherwise just that it should have some rest It all looked fine and it does not hurt when she finds on the teeth - it would obviously do if the nerve has been damaged.
Yet she tried to paint one of his teeth because my teeth were very sore bare
I would also say it's been a bit better - but not very violent.
The first few days I took 2 * 600 mg. Ibumetin - but the dentist thought that if something was wrong, I had been in need of painkillers 4 times a day.
Now I content myself with taking a morning - but still have pain at night may fall asleep for the
If I do not take pills, ie. when I wake in the morning ranges in the tooth and I do NOT drink / eat something cold at all - it hunts SO much of it as the tears roll And even if I take one pill in the morning, "forget" Unfortunately, I drink during the day because is so afraid of the pain (think sku I end up losing me of it here)
Feel so protective mother to the dentist seems so unsympathetic (is really really cute, so not that way) to this pain
Must be down there tomorrow again - but it is getting a second hole
Regards
Henriette
Answer:
Dear Henriette
Can understand that you are frustrated. You may make reservations for my answer, because it is a little difficult to comment on such a specific question.
The tooth should rodbehandles. When the dentist knock on the tooth, she checks whether the inflammation is out of the bone. And, as your symptoms are, so I estimate that it is only a matter of time. Once the tooth is so hyper-sensitive, nerve already has been damaged. It is not meant that you need so bad, but as I said, it is somewhat difficult to give a definite answer when I have not seen X-ray or tooth.
Hope you can use my answer.
