Violent pain

Question:

I started a week ago to get the indescribable violent pain in my tooth, where it after some days felt as if all the teeth in the same side did hurt very much. I was at the dentist's today and was diagnosed with a hole, which had gone down to the nerve, which was causing the extreme pain. I have now got it made, but now the pain after the anesthesia come back again, now they are just twice as bad. It must be said that I have pain around the clock and I am not sleeping at night, because the pain is so extreme. I've got some Ibumetin(400mg) and alm. notebook which tilsydladende only works a very small percentage. I have held myself to these all week, but now my limit is gone. It may not fit, I have to go and be so sore all the time. So my few questions are:

After what I have come to find through google.dk, so can a hole down to the nerve cause inflammation, which is causing the extreme pain. So I am thinking.. If this is the case, then I should surely be able to get prescription on something which is a lot more effective than these, as I now get?

And can I do something to prevent than later root canal treatment?

I hope to get a response otherwise
thank you in advance.

Sincerely, Anne

Answer:

Your tooth must rodbehandles if you have so many pains in so long. It will help in the pain to get the rodbehandlet. It is not necessary with penicillin if you have inflammation in a tooth.

Pain again, again

Question:

My 5’is in the left-hand sides undermund hurts. I have had problems with dental pain in the for several years. It is rodbehandlet, but still pain. Drilled out again. Still feel pain. Penicillin, Primcillin several times and Metronidasol 1X. Last roddehandl.for almost 3 years ago, where I was given penicillin several times. The dentist said that if the inflammation was not completely gone, it would spread to the weakest tooth. It came 2 weeks later, where visdomstanden the same side was violently inflamed and had to be removed.Since the pain has come and gone, often quite violent, so it feels up in the above tooth and almost spreads in the cheek. The tooth is brushed in the dental neck, as it at the same time is very sensitive to cold. The tooth is of course x-rayed several times, without my dentist can see anything. The hygienist has talked about a fistula, which komemr and go, but even at a rodspidsoperation believe she does not, you can be sure, the pain subsides.
18 years ago I was out for an accident, and it turned out somewhere along the way, that was on fine cracks in several molars, which are either rodbehandlede or removed.I get 10 mg.Amitriptyline dgl.for nerve pain, as I feel around in the head after hjerneraumet.

Sincerely, Swiften

Answer:

Dear Swiften,

If there is something with a fistula that comes and goes, it should be treated regardless of whether there is doubt as to whether the pain subsides or not. Me aware can the inflammation from the one tooth not attack some other weak teeth. So your 5er and visdomstand are two different things.

pain/inflammation after tooth extraction

Question:

I hope you can help me to an explanation of the following:

I have a plastfyldning in the right undermund(molar) multiple times is built up because of the tooth was well worn and not much left.
but so it happens that breaks something again and goes enough with it for long, for I suddenly get pain in the tooth and the pulling up of the neck and the ear.
going to the dentist, where there is a røgten image that does not show inflammation, and the hole will be made again with the plastic, which is quite a big tooth.
after 2 days it is absolutely crazy with the pain..get penicillin a Tuesday and Friday I must again to the dentist... where it is either root canal treatment or tooth extraction...I choose the latter due to the worn tooth m.m
the dentist will get the tooth out the whole look so a hole in the middle of the tooth, which he says goes down to the nerve
there is then inflammation in the roots and the jaw ?? and would a root canal been better??or what will it say???

however, despite the extraction...do I still get some terrible pain and may soon not be in some places, eating a lot of pain every day.
is fat under the jaw and feel like the glands are swollen and the nasty pains running up along the halssiden to the ear and at the back of the head and the temple.
come again to the dentist and he looks after if there is koagler of the blood of the tooth, but it's not there...but talk about a ensym and the bones ...didn't understand this completely..is that the bone pieces to fix?? got put gauze with clove oil down...did not think it takes the pain enough??? and he spoke about maybe having to every day??
he explained that there would grow some of the bone before would the pain not keep up...
but can you explain me a little more about it last??? went so fast so I could not follow completely with this..
thought you just went to the dentist and got a tooth out, and then it was over ;-( never had such problems before??

is it because I have gone too long with the hole or the tooth's wear and tear?? (I am 55 years old)

forgot just the dentist said that approximately 1 out of 10 got those genes??

mvh Mia
looking forward to your reply 😉

Answer:

Dear Mia

You call it “dry alveole” or “alveolitis sicca dolorosa” which is it that gives you so many genes now. It very rarely happens. When pulling a tooth out, is there a blodkoagle where the tooth sat. Here grows with time, the blood vessels in and subsequently is completely filled up with bone and mucous membrane again. It rarely happens that it to this blodkoagel lost. When this happens, the bone bar, and this gives so many pain because to out through the bone sitting there a lot of nerve endings that are very sensitive. The dentist can remedy these pains by adding eugenol down in this empty alveole (here where the tooth has been). Forålet with this is to “burn” the nerve endings over, which relieves the symptoms slightly. It also helps to rinse well in the alveoli. Your symptoms should be subsiding and you can get the prescription of some stronger painkillers that your dentist.

Good recovery.

Have gone with severe pain in the jaw in a year

Question:

Loved Ones Dentistry.dk

I have for a year now, passed with great pain in my left jaw. I had a visdomstand, was moved out of the left overmund because I thought it was the, it was wrong with. But it's like the hole that was supposed to be after the tooth had been moved out, still is swollen and it hurts when I touch it. It is very heavy and deep pain in the left cheek. When it is on, I notice that my left nostril, as a rule, a stop and they pull down my throat and up in my temples and the left eye.
Is there anything I can do on your own. Are students so it would be too expensive for me to go to a dentist!

Mvt.

Martin!

Answer:

Dear Martin,

It sounds extremely uncomfortable. You can seek out dentistry in Copenhagen or in Aarhus. Now I do not know which of them is nearest to you, but that you can be examined for free. You pay of course with your time. But I think you should get it examined as soon as possible.

Should I opt for root canal treatment?

13. January 2010
Filed in Treatment, Pain and Anaesthesia, Teeth

Question:

I am faced with, I think though, a big problem. Go out and travel a half-year on 5 January and since it is christmas ovs, I have not much time to see an. I got in november removed a temporary filling which I had and a half years. Got the temporary filling because I had a big hole where there was a piece of sølvfyldningen that was broken. Have no symptoms had in the half year I had the temporary filling. When I saw in november gets removed it and put plastic I begin to get symptoms. Already inside at the dentist's, I noticed as she polishes the tooth there is a small area that hurts when touched. This area has bothered me a little bit ago. My dentist thinks it is because the filling was too high and therefore sanded the tooth 2 times. After the grinding has it's place, however, been even more tenderly and responded to cold and when I scrunch with a fingernail. Especially when I'm out in the cold winter air I get many pain through the tooth. The days where I have been very out are the extra delicate and may react to hot. There may also be days where I don't think that the tooth is delicate ex the days where I am mainly at home. I think even the case of to the nerve is too close to the filling, and therefore are very delicate. My concern is that I don't know whether I should rodbehandle it? The best would probably be to let the time go, but it is a little difficult since I will soon travel to asia for half a year. Can live with my pain now, but I need to know that the pain does not become worse and that there is no risk of inflammation. Must finally be said that I am 25 years old, have never before been rodbehandlet. What should I do?

Sincerely, Laura

Answer:

Dear Laura,

It you must let your dentist assess for you whether the tooth should rodbehandles or not. It is a bad sign that the tooth reacts to heat and that you have pain in the. Evidence to suggest that it ends with a root canal. If your dentist determines that it is best to wait and see, it is probably true in your case.

Pain in the jaw once in a while

Question:

Hello Dentistry,
Since my last visits to the dentist, I have had pain in my jaw once in a while. It was the worst right after my last visits to the dentist. So I had not so big problems in 2-3 months. But now it starts to get worse again. It varies how long that go from. It might take 1 day or 3 weeks, sometimes I have pain in the jaw. It usually goes away again after 1 days. It is the most in the right side.
If I should have done something about it, should I go to my dentist or my general practitioner doctor?
With kind regards

Jane

Answer:

Dear Jane,

It suggests that it is kæbeleddet in the right side that bothers you. Talk to your dentist about it. He can also rule out whether it comes from the teeth or the muscles.

The dentist works so uncomprehending facing my pain

20. august 2009
Filed in Pain and Anaesthesia

Question:

I think, actually, that my pain threshold is ok high – has given birth to 3 children without anesthesia and made a part of the dentist in the last few months. also without anesthetic

But av av av I have such a toothache and have had it for almost a week and a half now Trying to say to myself that it's just nonsense and now I must take me along, but it makes just as evil

I got a month and a half ago drilled two deep holes out and made a pulpaoverkapning (ie. she was trying to get the nerves to pull himself together).

In Wednesday's bored she had them so completely out – the nerves had not withdrawn as was hoped – but it all looked fine and sealed, she had them. She could not give any guarantee that it would succeed, and that in the long term could end up with a root canal – but she was VERY optimistic.

But since then I've just had an evil evil evil I was down there on Friday again and she gave me some penicillin and so she believed that she otherwise, just that it had to have something calm It all looked fine and it does not hurt when she turns on the teeth – it would apparently do, if the nerve has been damaged.

However, she tried to paint one of the teeth, since my root was very devoid

I will also say, it's been a bit better – but not violent much.

The first few days I took 2 * 600 mg. ibumetin – however, the dentist felt that if there was something wrong, had I had no need for painkillers 4 times a day.

Now settle I to take one in the morning – but it has still hurt in the evening, however, may well fall asleep for the

If I don't take the pills, ie. when I wake up in the morning ranging in the tooth and I can'T drink/eat anything cold at all – it hunts SO much in it, so the tears are rolling And even though I take one pill in the morning, “forget”, unfortunately, I to drink during the day and is so afraid of the pain (think sku I end up with to lose me here)

Feel so pylret, the dentist works so uncomprehendingly (is really really sweet, so that is not the way) to the pain

Be down there tomorrow again – but it is to get a second hole

Mvh

Henriette

Answer:

Dear Henriette

Can well understand that you are frustrated. You must make reservations for my answer, because it is a little difficult to comment on such a specific question.

The tooth must rodbehandles. When the dentist banks on the tooth, checking she on the inflammation is out in the bone. And as your symptoms are, so do I assess that it is only a matter of time. When the tooth is so hypersensitiv, the nerve has already been damaged. It is not intended that you should have hurt, but as I said, it is a little difficult to give a definite answer when I haven't seen the x-ray image or the tooth.

Hope you can use my answer.

Pain at the change to plastic fillings

Question:

I have changed all my old fillings with plastic. It is soon 3 months ago and I still have pain in most of the mouth. It is usually at the udskiftnig to plastic fillings or should I consult my dentist?

Anonymous

Answer:

Dear user

It is very common that the teeth can be sore after a new plastfyldning. Some of the symptoms up to 6 months and the other will never be symptom-free. If this has great genes, the tooth probably rodbehandles. It is always a good idea to seek out a dentist if you are in doubt or in pain. I don't know how many fillings it is in your case, but maybe tyggefladen be adjusted, if you chew too hard on the teeth, it can also cause symptoms.
