Huge hole after wisdom tooth removed
Question:
Hi
I have just been to the dental school in Copenhagen where I had the lower wisdom tooth removed because of a toothache. inflammation. I had my stitches removed 4 days ago and have not seen the extent until now when I was very shocked that there was a huge hole. It is so deep that I would think that food scraps could easily get into the hole. Is that normal? The hole is not just an indentation but a real hole, as if the tooth has just been removed.
Greetings Mia
Answer:
Dear Mia,
Yes, it is quite normal. It will eventually disappear completely as the gums and bone heal. But there has probably been a lack of communication on the part of your therapist, since you are not better informed about the course. However, you are always welcome to contact the dental school again if any problems arise.
Hope you can use my answer.
Sincerely

What do you do with the food that comes bed in the hole, it is quite annoying it sits there ??
Hi Michael,
One should be careful the first time and avoid irritating the wound, eat in the other side for 14 days and rinse your mouth regularly, although not the first day. If you have an accident, you should go to your dentist to have it washed away.
